Overview

During your first two weeks, you’ll be in our Travel Insurance Claims Academy where you’ll receive all the training you need to be a huge success in your new career! We also offer an excellent progression programme as well fully funded insurance professional qualifications (CII).

As a Trainee Claims Handler, you’ll receive comprehensive training that covers all aspects of the job, including insurance fundamentals and the handling of Travel Insurance Claims.

In this role, you can expect to handle a wide range of claims, including lost luggage, flight cancellations due to adverse weather, and medical bills incurred while traveling. The training provided will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in your new role and a career with us.

We’re specifically looking for empathetic people, who keep their cool in what can sometimes be challenging conversations.

How you'll make an impact

  • Helping to process travel insurance claims, including reviewing documentation, assessing coverage, and determining claim validity (whether the claim will be paid or not).
  • Phoning or emailing customers to gather information, provide updates on their claim, and talk though any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Working with other team members, such as claims adjusters and supervisors, to make sure we’re dealing with the claim in the very best way possible for everyone.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all claims and related activities.

About you

  • Ability to explain complex language in simple terms, either in writing and/or over the phone
  • Attention to detail to accurately review and assess claim documentation
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate whether a claim should be paid or not
  • Empathy and the ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with customers who may be in stressful situations
  • Customer service skills to provide a positive experience for customers throughout their claims process
  • Computer literate
  • GCSEs, or equivalent including English and Maths
