Introduction

Are you ready to join a dynamic team in Pen Underwriting's Crawley office, where you will play a crucial role in the world of underwriting? We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Underwriting Assistant to join our Risk Managed Team and make a real impact on our Commercial, Property Owners, and Contractors Combined Underwriting processes.

How you'll make an impact

  • Support pre-underwriting processes on renewals, quotations, and mid-term adjustments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and brokers, maintaining strong communication channels to collect and manage risk information effectively.
  • Take charge of daily chasers, ensuring timely follow-ups and maintaining a proactive approach.
  • Assist with Aged Debt collection, contributing to the financial success of the team.
  • Request Risk Management Surveys and liaise with the Survey Team, ensuring comprehensive risk assessment.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in data entry and underwriting package preparation, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Manage administrative requirements for the Underwriting team, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Liaise with Underwriters for policy issuance instructions, contributing to a seamless process

About you

  • A passion for the insurance industry and a desire to make a difference in the underwriting field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, brokers, and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and underwriting package preparation.
  • Proactive and organized approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • A team player mentality, with the ability to collaborate and contribute to the success of the team.
