As a Placement Year Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analysing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and contributing to design of solutions for IT and business change projects. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and drive business growth that look to add value to Gateley and its Client engagement.

Responsibilities will include

  • Managing stakeholders through the discovery phase to support requirements elicitation and capture for new projects and change requests to existing IT systems
  • Supporting the project/change sponsor in writing clear requirements that can be easily translated into technical requirements
  • Supporting test plan creation and execution as part of release management of change
  • Creating documentation for bespoke applications
  • Clearly articulating business requirements and business process flows for programmes of work
  • Preparing business analysis documentation
  • Creation of communications to support project releases
  • Liaising between business stakeholders, development team members, 3rd parties, clients and others as required to support delivery of IT solutions for the Gateley business.
  • Communicating in language that is appropriate to the audience.
  • To be aware of and comply with the company's policies and procedures

The team

Gateley Plc has a dynamic and collaborative IT department. We have grown our team to over 60 staff members in total across IT Service, Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, Change Management, Engineering, Innovation and Client Solutions.

The Solution Delivery team comprises Change Management, Engineering, and Innovation professionals. The majority of the team is based in our Birmingham city centre office.

The team is responsible for definition and delivery of transformational change across Gateley and IT system / processes improvements, as well as developing client-specific solutions, and managing integrations between systems.

The person

This opportunity would ideally suit an individual from a professional services background with experience of working with IT networking, Infrastructure and / or security teams. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Project planning, estimation, requirements gathering, and business case writing.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build trusted relationships with C-level stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn
  • 3 x A levels (or equivalent) at grades A - C
