The role

We are looking for a talented Graduate Landscape Architect to join our London studio with strong graphic skills and direct design implementation experience. Experienced chartered landscape architects are welcome to apply.

Skills required

  • Basic knowledge of the UK planning system, planning guidance and policy context and landscape planning processes.
  • Basic understanding of the technical standards and regulations pertinent to our industry.
  • Exposure to how a professional practice operates and an understanding of what it is to be a Landscape Architect / Urban Designer.
  • Sound working knowledge of software packages pertinent to the task required.
  • Sound-written, hand-drawn and verbal communication skills.

Essential skills

Being able to

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials in a range of mediums.
  • Assist in the preparation of drawings/packages of drawings for planning and building control approval, tender and construction purposes.
  • Attend and assist in preparation for internal and external meetings.
  • Coordinate certain tasks or elements of a project.
  • Develop and prepare sketch work and illustrative materials.
  • Drafting of reports or sections within a report.
  • Proactive role in the maintenance of project files, printing, scanning drawings and preparing drawing issues.
  • Research project briefs, precedents, case studies, materials and construction products.
  • Support landscape assessment fieldwork and surveys and assist with landscape planning documents such as LVIA, TVIA, LVA, and landscape studies, including appendices.
  • Undertake design exercises and creative concept work.
  • Undertake drafting, setting up and amending drawings in accordance with CAD standards.
