The Role
This post-holder will have a unique opportunity to support the different stages of the EPR Programme through a variety of different roles. This is an exciting opportunity to experience different roles in Project Support and System support and develop a wide variety of transferrable skills.
The role will facilitate the collation and interpretation of data with responsibilities to analyse current Business Processes’, whilst the organisation prepares to be “ready” for the EPR. This will involve engaging with key stakeholders at the trust and facilitating workshops and conversations, along with the Project Team supporting the EPR Programme.
As well as this, there will be the opportunity to be involved in a more “hands on” capacity with the configuration and testing of the EPR. Working with our System Specialists, you will become an expert in specific functions of the EPR and gain experience in the, setting up, configuration, support and maintenance around Clinical Systems. This includes developing skills to support the Clinical Systems we have in place now, and helping with the “day-to-day” support our System Specialists provide now.
Over the total period of employment, the role will involve a variety of tasks which could include:
- Being responsible for translating current processes into future ways of working
- Presenting in depth understanding of the ways healthcare professionals use information for the support of patient care.
- Encourage and support Operational teams to make the appropriate changes ensuring data quality is maintained
- Support the measurement and reporting on benefits delivery as required.
- Providing project support in testing, documentation and analysis for enabling/dependent projects for our EPR Programme
- Ensuring necessary precautions are adhered to in line with Data Protection Act and any other Information Governance requirements.
- Facilitating engagement in the form of meetings and workshops
- Providing configuration management support and system expertise
- Providing support for the Business As Usual support and management of our Clinical Systems.
The Location
The candidate will be able to choose between Ipswich Hospital and Colchester Hospital as their “home” site, but travel is expected where required between all of our ESNEFT sites, including our wider services in Community Hospital settings in Suffolk and North East Essex.
Whilst we support remote working, there will be a requirement to be able to travel to every ESNEFT site where required. Most of the team currently have a hybrid working pattern of working from home, working from the acute sites and using our hot desking facility at IP City in Ipswich.

The candidate does not need to have a degree in technology or project management but must have the aptitude to learn and be motivated to learn build their own knowledge and develop new skills.
