Our aim is to aspire to deliver world class patient care, and we want talented, dedicated and passionate people to help us achieve this.
We are one of just three specialist orthopaedic hospitals in the UK, and our care was rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission following their most recent inspection.

Feedback from our patients is positive, with the latest Adult Inpatient Survey rating us as delivering the best patient experience in the UK. This is a title we have earned many times over recent years and is something which our staff take great pride in.

We have a range of fantastic staff benefits on offer to everyone who joins RJAH and you'll have access to state-of-the-art facilities and outstanding professional development opportunities. RJAH has strong links with a range of universities including Staffordshire, Keele, Glyndwr, Chester and Birmingham.

We are a Trust that truly cares for its own people – as evidenced by some of the support measures that have been put in place during the current cost of living crisis. Our staff now have access to free breakfasts every morning and free hot drinks, as well as discounted winter warmer lunches. We value our staff and do not charge staff for car parking.

    The Role

Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH) is implementing Apollo, an instance of SystemC’s CareFlow Electronic Patient Record. The Apollo EPR will enable administrative, medical, nursing, and other RJAH health professionals to plan, deliver, record in real time, and share data about patient care electronically. Users will be able to order tests and review results as soon as they are available, prescribe, administer, and document medication, capture vitals data from medical devices into the patient record and access relevant medical history.

The Programme, which will be one of the most significant transformations the Trust has undertaken in its recent history, has the potential to deliver huge benefits for both patients and staff. It formally commenced with Kick Offs in September 2022 and is expected to go live in Q1 of 2024.

The post holder will play a key role in the maintaining and provision of digital services and support the rollout of the new Apollo EPR system ensuing that the system integrates with current infrastructure and ensuring secure access for all staff and patients.

The post holder will be responsible for the security and configuration of the Trust’s network and server infrastructure. They will need to ensure that processes and procedures are in place in order to maintain high levels of integrity and ensure the availability of Trust systems.

They will be responsible for the provision of general support of server and network infrastructure, taking the lead in many cases for the deployment and troubleshooting of devices and providing 3rd line support where necessary.

They will perform and report on the availability and capacity of the infrastructure environment, proposing improvements and constructing business cases for new developments and developing processes and procedures for the ongoing management of the technology estate.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency support outside of normal working hours.
