Our mission is to 'help people save and invest with confidence'. We are looking for great people to join us, so please come and invest in YOUR future at HL.

From a spare bedroom start-up, to a successful FTSE100 organisation, Hargreaves Lansdown is one of Bristol’s biggest success stories.

Whilst we’re traditionally known as a Financial Services organisation, it’s IT and Digital that underpins the products and services that are now used by over 1 million clients.

Our Technology Risk apprenticeship scheme offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills whilst working towards a BSc (Hons) degree in Digital and Technology Solutions. Throughout your apprenticeship you will receive continuous guidance from your manager as well as the support of a mentor through the early stages of your career.

Here at HL, we’re constantly investing in our people. Over the course of the year we organise various social events, charitable and developmental activities that will give you the chance to meet and network with other people across the business.

If you’re looking to kick start your career in an environment that will give you the chance to have a big impact on real projects and be treated as one of the team, this could be the apprenticeship for you!

    Summary

HL is a market leader in client service. We are client centric and continually enhancing our risk and control management across the organization.

As a member of the Risk Team ultimately reporting into the Group Chief Risk Officer, you will be part of the community working to have a genuine positive impact on our overall risk and control environment. Our purpose is to build a sustainable business that delivers excellent client outcomes safely.

You will have an interest in what makes people tick – successful communication across our broad stakeholders drives good risk management, engagement, adoption and oversight.

You will support the Risk team and all colleagues in HL by contributing to the sustainable development of HL’s activities and delivering great client outcomes by defining, with our first line colleagues, HL’s risk appetite and by establishing, in our role as second line of defence, a risk management and monitoring system.

You will be able to combine a measure of independence from the business areas (first line) with a close collaboration and engagement with those core business areas; supporting the teams and management to execute their responsibility in the first instance for managing the risks around their operations.

HL is a fast-paced environment, there is plenty to do, and no two days will be the same. We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated apprentice to help us identify, monitor and report on HL’s ability to manage risks with a clear focus on great client outcomes and sustainable growth; ensuring that people within HL are well informed, particularly during times of change, and engaged in their work and with HL.

This is a highly varied and interesting role which will require an empathetic and intelligent people-focused approach, to influence and effect real change.
