About the role

You will play a pivotal role in the creative production hub, Studio Hearst, working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team responsible for the execution and delivery of impactful branded content and consumer marketing campaigns.

This role demands a perfect blend of skill and efficiency, with a focus on designing for web, social, and print. You may be designing display banners for Good Housekeeping on one day and a Tik Tok for Cosmopolitan the next!

The successful candidate will possess a keen understanding of client expectations, the ability to follow briefs meticulously, and the creativity to align content with the distinctive style rules of Hearst's magazine brands.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the design hub daily to deliver wonderfully creative, eye-catching and effective content for commercial branded content, and both consumer and business marketing campaigns, across digital and print.
  • Producing thumb-stopping animated social posts, interactive media, display banners, mocks, article composites, events collateral, email campaigns, in magazine print pages and other design material as required.
  • You will carefully read and interpret briefs, taking raw assets and turning them into spectacular designs.
  • A thorough understanding of our different magazine brands (print and digital) and social platforms.
  • Work with the Senior designers to ensure work produced meets the client brief, is in-line with house brand styles and that deadlines are met on live projects.
  • Take in amends from clients and internal stakeholders with poise and have the design knowledge to implement in the best way.
  • Design visuals that perfectly complement editorial content, following each brand’s unique aesthetic whilst seamlessly integrating the client’s product offering and adhering to the campaign strategy.
  • Managing your time efficiently and, at times autonomously, to see projects from initial concept to signed-off design, within timelines and cost constraints.
  • The role requires you to multitask, juggling multiple projects and deadlines as well as managing the expectations of all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend internal brainstorms, offer creative design expertise during ideation phases and deliver, bringing fresh solutions and ideas every time.
  • You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.

About you

  • Relevant and demonstrable industry experience – working on print and digital (social and web) with brands, advertising and/or editorial content.
  • Portfolio of successfully delivered projects that demonstrate a strong flair for visual communication of content, conceptual thinking, attention to detail and an ability to convert and interpret supplied assets into successful creative products.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation for responsive design and communication of rich media content across various devices as part of a user journey.
  • Proven knowledge of industry- standard software such as the Adobe Creative suite. Namely Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
  • Attention to detail and consistency, with a proven experience working independently and using initiative.
  • Organised and methodical approach to work and deadlines.
  • Experience with Celtra or Figma a plus.
  • It is essential you are a team player and a strong communicator, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with delivery teams and take direction from senior stakeholders.
  • BA (Hons) in Graphic Design or a similar form of design welcomed but not essential if you have proven industry experience.
