The team
In our Coasts and Oceans Group, we help deliver sustainable projects along coastlines, estuaries, inland waterways, and the deep ocean. Our people have a range of expertise in physical oceanography (covering hydrodynamics and sediment), and use computational and physical models to support developments such as offshore wind farms, ports and harbours, coastal defences. Our work supports engineering design, environmental impact assessment, and strategic planning such as climate change adaptation plans.
The roles
Due to our growing business we are looking to recruit two graduates in 2024.
The role will be to analyse data, set up and run computational models, working with project teams and project managers to help deliver both consultancy and research projects for clients around the world.
About you
To apply for this role, you will have a graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. physical oceanography, physics, mathematics, engineering, physical geography, although other relevant degrees will be considered). You will be numerate, enjoy problem solving, and have a good attention to detail. You will be flexible, intuitive, adaptable and self-motivated, while also being a good team worker with good communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software is essential. Knowledge of, or a keen interest to learn, a programming language, preferably Python and/or MATLAB and/or FORTRAN is required.
