    Programme overview

    We are looking for current undergraduate students with a curious mind who wish to explore the exciting field of technology in a diverse, innovative, global organisation. Our Industrial Placement programme is designed to give you valuable experience and insight into building the career you have always wanted, or one you never knew you’d like, either by working towards a specialism or by building a more general skillset.

    You will be given training before being placed on a team for the duration of your placement. Throughout the programme you will be immersed in an environment that thrives on individual growth. You will have access to our very own Technology Academy, professional development series, mentorship opportunities, leadership talks and team activities with other Technology Specialists from the global community.

    HSBC work across a wide number of areas from Cyber, AI, Data, Cloud, and Digital Channels and Products.

    What will you do?

    • Examples of roles (but not limited to) – full stack engineer, API engineer, data analysts, solutions analyst, scrum master, technology architects

    Where these roles will lead to

    There may be the opportunity to springboard onto the 2025 Graduate Programme.  These potential opportunities will be dependent on a number of factors during your placement with HSBC and the successful completion of your Undergraduate Degree securing a minimum of a 2:2 classification.

    Qualifications – External

    Requirements: Graduating in 2025 with a minimum of a 2:2 classification.  The programme is for current students who are required to complete work experience or an industrial placement as part of their degree.

    If you successfully gain an offer on to the Graduate programme after the Industrial Placement programme, international students must be in receipt or have applied for your UK PSW/Graduate visa prior to starting the Sheffield Graduate programme and have a minimum of 18 months remaining from the start of the programme.  HSBC will not cover any costs associated with this visa and it will be up to the successful applicant to have secured this visa before the start date of the programme.
