Job Description

This role is within the THG Projects Team, reporting direct to the Portfolio Cost Engineer within the Project Controls Division. You will support the Portfolio Cost Engineer, and Project Managers as applicable, helping to develop cost control within the multi-million-pound portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager to raise PO’s against projects
  • Collate information to create suppliers within the finance system
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain prompt submittal of their invoice forecast
  • Assist suppliers in ensuring their invoices are processed in a prompt manner
  • Work within a team to ensure day to day delivery of projects in relation to the agreed schedule of works and approved budgets
  • Identify late payments, or errors in cost estimates, escalating to Project Managers as required
  • Form strong, professional working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, which may also include varied groups of sub-contractors
  • Maintain best practice for cost control procedures
  • Promote a professional working culture and ethic within the THG Project department.

  • Understanding of engineering projects and finance procedures.
  • Developing knowledge of the E2E Project Management process in line with an affiliated body such as APM, PMI or PRINCE2
  • Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to consolidate and present detailed information in clear, concise form for high level exec reviews
  • Good IT Skills - able to operate at high competence level in MS Office suite – particularly PowerPoint, Word & Excel
  • Management accounting or cost reporting experience to all levels
  • Sage and/or Clearbooks software experience
  • Certificate level CIMA

Requirements

To be considered you will need to have:

  • Understanding of engineering projects and finance procedures.
  • Developing knowledge of the E2E Project Management process in line with an affiliated body such as APM, PMI or PRINCE2
  • Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to consolidate and present detailed information in clear, concise form for high level exec reviews

Appreciation of the below would be advantageous:
