We are looking for an RVN to join our team in our small animal clinic in New Street, Honiton. This is a fixed-term contract for maternity cover, starting in February/March.

The role is 32 hours a week with a variety of shift patterns and duties between the hours of 8.00-19.00pm. We work a 1:4 Saturday morning rota with TOIL available the following week. There is also the additional benefit of no OOH or on-call. Practice parking is available.

Your day-to-day

As a valuable member of our small team your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Nurse consults
  • Admitting and discharging patients
  • Anaesthesia support
  • Preparing patients for and recovering patients from surgery
  • Inpatient care
  • Lab duties
  • Maintaining a clean environment
  • Client communications
  • Collaborating closely within a small team to assist the vet, support student nurses and provide excellent reception service.
  • Maintaining RCVS membership and keeping up with CPD.

At New Street Vets, we are a small, friendly 1st opinion practice based in East Devon. The practice has recently been refurbished with digital and dental x-ray equipment.
We encourage and fund your development and CPD, with a strong vision to utilise the veterinary nurse’s skillset.

The New Street team comprises 3 veterinary surgeons, 3 registered veterinary nurses and a student veterinary nurse as well as reception and support staff.
We also work for local charities including the Cats Protection and Greyhound Rescue.
