We are a long established, small animal practice only 20 minutes from Manchester. We have taken a number of graduates through the graduate scheme over the last few years and all have excelled and developed into excellent GP vets. We are a wonderful team with 5 Vets and 7 Nurses. We are a Veterinary Nurse Training Practice and have Student Nurses as well as our RVNs. The Nurses work closely with the Vets, and they are extremely capable and supportive. We are a single site practice so there are always at least 2-3 Vets on site.
Out of hours is covered by an emergency clinic. We have all the usual equipment one would expect in a GP practice: digital x-ray, separate cat/dog/isolation wards, ultrasound, 4 consulting rooms and 2 theatres.
Step into a supportive start
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 or 5 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. You are required to participate in a weekend rota and out of hours rota.
The graduate will have lots of support from very experienced GP Vets and encouraged to follow their cases through with guidance and support. Case discussions are strongly encouraged and there is no sole charge for new graduates. Being a single centre site there will always be more experienced Vets around to support you. In addition, our Nurses are a great team. We have very low staff turnover, and they are very supportive and knowledgeable.
