Unlock your passions at Bilton Veterinary Centre

We are a large single-site practice located in Rugby. Being based in the Midlands, we are very close to motorway networks as well as only 50 mins to London by train. NEC and Birmingham are only 25 minutes away. The practice is within easy reach of Rugby, Leamington and Coventry town centres with the usual range of retail and entertainment outlets.

The countryside is close by as well, with the Cotswolds and Peak District within an hour away. We are surrounded by beautiful local countryside as well with some great opportunities for walking, country pubs, canals, a reservoir and multiple other outdoor adventures. There are multiple opportunities for local sports and social clubs in the area too.

Our wonderful team of 7 Vets and 10 Nurses are all very experienced, even our "youngest Vet" is 6 years qualified. We have a broad base of experience including surgery, orthopaedics, imaging and medicine. Ring-fenced time is available for phone-calls, prescriptions and lab reporting.

One hour a week dedicated to meetings or in-house training. Case discussions are commonplace and encouraged to draw on the wealth of different experiences within the team. Our team is well established with very low staff turnover. Regular social outings along with a great team spirit make the practice fun and educational for someone to start their career.

We have a very well-established and stable client base and our practice is held in high local regard. Nearly all of our clients come to us based on reputation. We strive hard to provide a friendly and professional service to the animals and owners of our area and further afield.

We have 4 operating areas, including two sterile theatres, one dental station and one "prep" station, digital radiography and dental radiography, high standard ultrasound including echocardiography, multiparameter monitoring, extensive in-house laboratory, slit lamp and tonometry for ophthalmology. We have two Vets due to complete their Ophthalmology and Feline Medicine certificates.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 5 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota.

We are looking for an additional member of the team that we can help develop to the same level and standard as the rest of our clinical team. We put a lot of emphasis on support, discussions, guidance and teamwork with our staff. Historically, many of our vets have come as new graduates and stayed!

Our ethos is very much that we want you to succeed and excel at your role as this helps with your contribution to our clinical team. Our practice has a varied caseload and you will benefit from a wealth of colleague experience in all clinical areas. We are keen to allow people to develop their own specific areas of interest.

As a new graduate, you can expect longer appointment times, manageable appointment numbers supervised surgical sessions and time set aside for time with your mentor. Also, regular CPD is encouraged and time set aside for your VetGDP program.
