Unlock your passions at Park Issa Vets

We are a friendly, 1st opinion companion animal practice with hospital status set on the Welsh marches in a busy expanding market town of Owestry. Oswestry is a great place to live with good roads to both the Midlands and the Northwest. It’s still a reasonably priced area to both live in. We are surrounded by countryside and right next to the Berwyns and Snowdonia but we are also less than an hour and a half from 3 international airports

We have a wonderful team of 9 Vets, 9 Nurses and 1 VCA. We have a good mix of younger Vets who joined straight from college and experienced Vets meaning there is good support both informally and formally with fortnightly Vets meetings and quarterly staff appraisals.

As a hospital status practice we have a good level of equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, diathermy, MMP kit, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, idexx lab suite in a dedicated lab, dental tub table, slit lamp, tonopen and indirect ophthalmoscope. We have 4 Surgery certificate holders, 2 Medicine certificate holders and 1 Ophthalmology certificate holder.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 5 days a week. Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:30. You will also be required to participate in a weekend rota and an out of hours on-call rota which will include working on weekends and bank holidays.

We have a good history of developing our graduates. Of the three academy graduates we have had, 2 still work for us. 5 of our Vets joined us straight from college and are still with us. 1 is now a Clinical Director and 3 are certificate holders. We would hope that this shows the support of the practice allows our graduates to grow without the need to move on.
