Unlock your passions at Pool House Veterinary Hospital

Pool House is a very traditional practice in many ways with a Tier 3 Hospital supported by 3 local branches. We are located in the picturesque cathedral city of Lichfield - approximately 30 mins north of Birmingham and 15 minutes from Cannock Chase.

We are ideally positioned for outdoor sports or urban shopping. We have a long history of developing new graduates and feel we have a very good track record of proving a supportive environment to allow individual and professional growth. Many of us are in our first jobs or have seen practice here as students!

As a relatively large practice, we have a wonderful, supportive team of 20 Vets, 13 RVNs as well as Student Nurses and VCAs. Within the team, we have certificate holders in Anaesthesia & Analgesia, Diagnostic Imaging and Emergency and Critical Care.

We also have other members of staff currently working towards their Surgery & Emergency and Critical Care ceritifcates. We have many all-rounders but also Vets with their own area of interest to give support when needed to allow a Vet to work up their case to a very high standard.

We are a very well equipped, 24 hours first opinion hospital with high end ultrasound, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy equipment, orthopaedic kits and standard ECC kit.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 42 hours per week, 4 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. You are required to participate in a weekend rota and out of hours rota.

In addition to our own in-house RCVS mentor, we have a buddy system for non-clinical support if they feel they need. Aside from our formal supportive network, our whole practice is geared to supporting and developing new Vets. We are also a teaching practice for Veterinary Nurses. We would like to think that the whole practice supports one another every single day.
