Summerwood is a really lovely place to work. Blackwood is set in the beautiful Welsh valleys with easy access to train and bus links to Cardiff (30 mins on train), Newport and the Brecon Beacons. there are many gorgeous walks around Blackwood and surrounding area which includes the famous mountain biking tracks at Cwmcarn forest drive. Blackwood is a small town with various shops on the High Street and a few retail parks at either end with shopping and food outlets.

We have a real 'family' feel within our wonderful team which is made up of 1 part time Head Vet, 2 full time Vets, 2 part time Vets, 8 RVNs and 2 SVNs. The team enjoy nights out together. We have regular meetings with Vets, Nurses and branch meetings to enable good communication. Friday treats are a regular occurrence to keep spirits up and bellies full!

Following a refurbishment, we now have shiny new separate cat kennels with up-to-date casco cat kennels, a new consulting room so that's a total of 4, separate dog kennels, separate cat and dog waiting areas, lab, x-ray room with up to date ultrasound and access to Signal pet, dental room with x-ray, prep and 1 ops theatre where we now have lap spay equipment.
