Unlock your passions @ Summerhill Veterinary Centre

We are a well-established 1st opinion practice in the heart of Wales, Summerhill has be know in the Newport community since the 1960's. Newport is a 10 minute train journey from Cardiff and 20 minute train journey from Bristol. There are many beautiful valley's in driving distance including the Brecon Beacons.

We have a wonderful, supportive team of 4.5 FTE Vets and 10 FTE Nurses. We used to run our own OOH, now we use Vets Now, but we do continue to run a busy Saturday clinic for our clients who can not make it through the week. We still see one or two ECC cases in a day, very broad surgical and medical cases and a strong nursing team who excel in all schedule 3 procedures to help minimise the workload on the vets so you can concentrate on being a Vet!

We have all the top of the range equipment and deliver gold standard care to all our patients. We have Nurse certificate holders who are always looking for ways to improve our GA protocols. All patients are monitored with a multi parameter machine during GAs, whilst their fluids are administered via an infusion pump. We have had surgeons come and go through our doors, so if you have an interest in a surgical area, we would more than likely have the equipment here to support you. All our dentals receive digital dental x-rays. We have digital radiographs linked to SignalPet, new endoscope, rigidscope, top of the range ultrasound machine and lots of other bits and bobs.
