At White Cross Bloxwich we are a friendly, close-knit team, with regular wellbeing afternoons and outings. We do regular school visits and Facebook posts to educate the public. We have also done first aid evenings. We have regular team meetings including regular vet meetings to ensure we strive to reach gold standard care.

At our location there is a low cost of living, as well as it being close to the train station to get to Birmingham. We are also close to Cannock Chase and Sutton Park which are areas of outstanding natural beauty. We are also a team that enjoy regular outings for meals and team building.

At our practice we have 1 clinical director (vet), another 7-year graduated vet and a 2-year graduate, but she is leaving, and we are hoping to fill this position in the next 3 months. The vets are full time. We also have 4 full time nurses, 1 part time and one nearly graduated student nurse. Our Clinical director is cert AVP, and other vet feline medicine and our nurses have a range of ECC, medicine and behaviour.

We also have excellent facilities onsite including multiparameter anaesthetic machine, ultrasound scanner, digital x-ray and dental x-ray.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 7pm. 1 in 4 Saturday’s are also required between the hours of 8.30-12, this time in given in lieu the following week.

There are lots of ways we help support you as a new graduate. We provide longer consults and gaps in between consulting. We have 2 vets, one 6 years qualified, and one 7 years qualified, both with certificates. We recently brought on a now 2-year graduate, and they have now developed the confidence to go and do other things. We get regular input from imagers visiting practice and have very confident nurses.
