Are you a passionate and dedicated veterinarian looking to take the next step in your career? Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital Birmingham is seeking four Small Animal Rotating Interns to join our dynamic team.

As a Rotating Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience across five key rotations: Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Anaesthesia and, Emergency Care. You will also have the opportunity to do an externship during the 12 months of the internship.

The hospital

Blaise is a large scale, multi-disciplinary referral hospital which encompasses the culture and high clinical standards IVC prides itself upon. Blaise has added to IVC’s extensive referral network, which now consists of over 100 referral sites across UK & Ireland. This is the first hospital in our group that we have built, creating a unique opportunity to be a part of something special from the very beginning.

The hospital is one of the largest in the UK at over 36,000 sq ft, with the capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets per year. From the site we provide specialist led multi-disciplinary veterinary referrals and a 24/7 Eemergency Service. The site has easy access from the A38 through Longbridge and is part of the West Longbridge regeneration project.

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in each rotation, assisting senior clinicians and specialists.
  • Conduct thorough examinations, diagnose medical conditions, and develop treatment plans under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Assist in surgeries, procedures, and emergency cases, honing your skills in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care for all patients.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities throughout the internship program.

To apply you will need

  • A Veterinary degree which is recognised by the RCVS.
  • To be Registered with the RCVS.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
