About the opportunity

Our Energy Team are working with some of the biggest clients in the sector on some of the most challenging and diverse projects. As such we are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer who will work with our multi-disciplinary teams to support the design of a wide variety of infrastructure works on interesting and challenging projects.  Our Clients include National Grid and other utility providers as well as renewables investment organisations.

Typical schemes are for new or refurbished substation type projects on high voltage electricity transmission and distribution systems.  The civil aspects of such schemes range from earthworks, roads, drainage and foundations through to buildings and high voltage plant support structures.

Typically our engineers are expected to rapidly progress with their understanding and experience, both in terms of design and project management, such that they can lead their own schemes.  They need to be team players, good communicators and will be expected to also be Client facing in their day to day activities.

The successful candidate will join a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects both local and internationally. You will work as part of a diverse and highly skilled team of Water and Environmental engineers, providing support and advice to a wide range of clients. There will be opportunities to experience different roles within the Water and Environment team aimed at developing your career.

  • MSc / MEng in Civil Engineering or similar, graduating in 2021
  • A natural curiosity
  • Passionate about decarbonising the UK utilities network
  • Flexibility to travel for work
  • A commitment to the pursuit of becoming a chartered professional and continuous professional development (CPD)

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have

  • Proven communication skills; both verbally and written
  • Demonstrated a previous interest in working in the Engineering Sector
  • Full driving licence
