We work as a geographically dispersed team, so mainly remotely, however, we have regular face to face activities, and we have hub offices where you can work with colleagues from our directorate and wider Jisc.
About the role
The Service Development team is responsible for the delivery of the data and technology products that support our statutory service offer. This includes the data collection systems and ancillary tools that are used to collect, quality assure and disseminate the data that we collect, and the specification of the data itself.
We work closely with our customers, including Higher Education Providers, Statutory Customers, software suppliers and internal departments at Jisc to ensure that we are collecting the right data, at the right time, to the right quality to support their needs.
Data Quality Analysts in the team bring complementary skills and abilities and are committed to a common purpose, performance goal and approach for which they are mutually accountable.
Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, monitor, document, and communicate potential quality issues in how data is collected, stored, and processed.
- Evaluate dataset/queries for quality and accuracy to determine business impact level for data quality issues.
- Analyse, query, and explore data according to defined business rules and procedures.
- Work with others to monitor the service level agreements, communication protocols with statutory customers, and data quality assurance policies.
- Provide support in learning and development and onboarding activities.
- Work and participate in career experiment opportunities across the organisation.
Key skills and experience
- Very adaptable and resilient in working with changing / incomplete requirements.
- Good attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Proactively anticipating and solving problems
- Experience in working within an Agile environment.
- Basic to Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
