    About the role

    This role sits within marketing and communications, reporting to the Sponsorship & exhibition manager as part of the events team. The events team is at the heart of Jisc’s engagement, with both our members and our customers. The highly experienced and passionate team deliver hugely successful events across a wide range of specialities and subject matters.

    We are looking for a proactive and creative individual to assist in providing key support to the Sponsorship and exhibition manager in securing revenue generated by Jisc from commercial partners, exhibitors and sponsors as well as being actively involved in the organisation and delivery of exhibition and sponsorships at priority Jisc events.

    You will also support the Senior event managers in the operational delivery of Jisc’s large events and work alongside our Event coordinator to support the delivery of a number of other smaller engagement activities ranging from in-person workshops to online events.

    We value meeting based interactions and cross team working so there is the requirement to travel our Bristol office once a week. This will also give you further opportunity for collaboration, experimentation and creativity and to build relationships with the wider events team. The role will also involve UK travel including overnight stays.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Working with external suppliers to ensure exhibition and sponsorship deliverables are implemented effectively
    • Working with the Sponsorship and exhibition manager to generate income for Jisc and liaise directly with exhibitors, sponsors and partners to manage deliverables for the event
    • Administrative tasks including maintaining our client database, exhibition inbox management, finance reporting, exhibitor and sponsor registration management and post event feedback
    • Working with the wider marcomms team to produce exhibition and sponsorship material for events
    • Being an active part of the event team and support with event delivery when required

    Key Skills and Experience

    • Previous experience of event and / or exhibition and sponsorship management and working with external suppliers live and or online
    • Knowledge and understanding of effective live and online events delivery and engagement
    • Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
    • Strong administration and database skills, using multiple software packages
