The role
As an Engineering Intern (1 Year Placement) you will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team on various assignments encompassing a well-defined set of tasks requiring fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and concepts. The Engineering Intern will assist with planning and coordination of operations processes for assigned product(s); design new systems and processes for the improvement of new & existing products or for the introduction of new products.
Primary responsibilities
- Working with development and manufacturing engineers to assess new manufacturing processes and develop effective work instructions for introduction of new products into manufacturing.
- Participate with other engineers to interpret design specifications in support of new and existing product development initiatives.
- Develop test plans, conduct testing and document results to ensure product performance requirements are met.
- Hands-on trouble-shooting of mechanical components and systems.
General tasks
- Maintain compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
- Implement the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.
Required experience, education, skills, training and competencies
- Student working toward Bachelor degree in Physics or Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong communication skills to be able to collaborate and present solutions clearly.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Problem Solving skills/Logical thinker.
- Good pattern recognition/Spotting data trends.
- Team worker with a strong collaborative approach.
- Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
We are ideally looking for the Engineering Intern to join us from September 2024 until August 2025, however we are able to offer some flexibility and we are happy to discuss options on a case by case basis.
