What can you expect?

The role of the Business Development Associate is to research and nurture new prospects in order to generate qualified leads for the business, across all LOBs, with an ultimate aim to drive new business opportunity and increased revenue.

In addition you will provide general marketing and sales support whilst ensuring that Mercerforce data is accurately maintained for prospecting activity. Alongside this you will be working through the Academy training programme to fast track your skills and abilities with your manager and mentors.

Daily tasks include:

  • Cold engagement with prospects to continually generate new opportunity and drive leads
  • Researching target prospects to gain understanding of business challenges, industry sector and key contacts
  • Arranging events and follow up for attendees and no-shows
  • Project Managing sales campaigns and initiatives – driving activity and ensuring that project deadlines are met
  • Maintaining a prospect list to build ongoing relationships with prospective clients
  • Interacting with the key decision makers at the prospect’s business.
  • Supporting Sales Professionals (all client sizes) with client work
  • Shadowing the team and learn from them as mentors
  • Involvement in prospect meetings, planning presentations and ensuring any bid work is completed effectively
  • Performing research for Sales Professional’s list of prospects to ensure you and your aligned Sales Professionals is set up well for all conversations
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all Lead Generation activity on Mercerforce
  • Producing campaign MI for Corporate Leadership Team
  • Developing an understanding of Mercer sales protocol, methodology and best practice
  • Developing internal and external network to support self-development and prospecting activity

Requirements

  • Achieved a minimum of a 2:1 in your degree discipline or are on track to achieve this
  • Legal work authorisation to work in the UK on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
  • Graduated between January 2021 and September 2022
