The Position

Wealth Graduate Analyst

Mercer is on the lookout for the best graduate talent for a place on our trainee development programme, the Mercer Academy. We have positions available within our Actuarial, Investment, Defined Contribution, and Governance and Pensions Management teams.

The Mercer Academy is designed to fast track you to working with clients.  It’s an intense programme, aimed at developing both your technical and consulting skills.  Most of our available positions within the Mercer Academy require you to take part in a 9-12 month rotation programme at the outset, working with a broad range of colleagues in key areas of our Wealth business to ensure you have the technical grounding to allow you to develop into a trusted advisor for your clients.  It’s a great time to join and you will work alongside the best and brightest in the industry! Which Role Is Right For Me?

Actuarial

You will work as part of a team supporting senior consultants, primarily providing advice to defined benefit pension scheme trustees and corporate sponsors in areas such as scheme funding, individual benefits, risk management and more.  You will help to develop and deliver customised advice and solutions to clients.  The world of retirement saving is changing and Mercer is developing innovative solutions for our clients and their employees, including supporting them on the journey to their end game.  This is your opportunity to be part of their journey.  Successful applicants will be supported through the actuarial exams in order to become a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Investment

You will work as part of a team supporting senior consultants, primarily providing advice to defined benefit pension scheme trustees in areas such as investment strategy, performance monitoring, risk management and more.  You will help to develop and deliver customised solutions and advice to our clients.  It’s a chance to develop your career as part of an innovative team recognised for the breadth and depth of its advice and the consistency of its performance.  Successful applicants will be supported through the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.

Defined Contribution

You will work as part of a team supporting senior consultants, providing advice to defined contribution clients in areas such as investment strategy, governance, scheme design and more.  This is an opportunity to be part of the largest group of DC experts in the UK in a growing area. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to undertake either the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or the Associate of the Pensions Management Institute (AMPI) qualification.

Governance and Pensions Management

You will be part of a team supporting our defined benefit trustee clients, ensuring they run their pension scheme effectively.  You will be involved in all aspects of client delivery including secretarial services for trustee meetings, project management, relationship building and more.  This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of client activity and build relationships with clients early in your career.  Successful applicants will be supported through the Associate of the Pensions Management Institute (APMI) qualification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You will have achieved a minimum of a 2:1 in your degree discipline or be on track to achieve this.
  • Legal authorisation to work in the UK on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
