    A vacancy has arisen for a Product Support Engineer in the Product & Engineering Support department at our Denham site. The purpose of this role is to provide technical liaison and product investigation with customers worldwide.

    Areas of Responsibility

    • Main responsibilities will include customer liaison, assisting in product investigation/support and advice technically, where appropriate.
    • Customer liaison tasks to include support of Field Service Engineers as required.
    • Assist in product investigation including documenting and researching root cause of in-service failures and oversee corrective actions.
    • Ground Support Equipment requiring liaison with Design Office and Product & Engineering Support in identifying specialist test equipment and tooling required to carry out maintenance and testing/operating checks on ejection seats.  Supporting the customer, problem solving and advising as required.
    • Provide reactive technical support to customer (internal and external) enquires in a timely manner and provide status updates as required.
    • Provide formal communications, creating Special Information Leaflets (SILs) and Technical Information Letters (TILs) as required
    • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Design Support Department.
    • To undertake business travel abroad or within the UK as and when required.

    Education & Qualifications

    • HNC/HND or significant experience on full product range or mechanical / aerospace engineering background.
    • Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society or similar would be advantageous
    • COER certified would be beneficial

    Specific / Technical Skill

    • Highly developed skill in the application of English in terms of grammar/vocabulary and underpinned by a strong verbal ability.
    • Fully competent in MS Office suite for report writing, analyses and presentation purposes.
    • Comprehensive data analysis skills.
    • Excellent problem solving/investigative skills.
    • Strong Excel expertise, competent Access user (‘lessons learned’ database gradually being migrated to SAP), SAP.

    Knowledge & Experience

    • Technical knowledge of MB products with a clear global understanding of in-service practice and policies.
    • Knowledge of Product support philosophies/techniques.
    • General experience of working and participating in a team.
    • Understanding of processes including but not limited to QA and manufacturing processes would be beneficial
