    We have 2 placement opportunities within the IT department, one within IT Support and one within IT Security. The ideal candidate should be a student who is looking for a twelve-month placement as part of their undergraduate degree. This role will be based at our Denham, Middlesex site. You will be able to state your preference on our application form.

    Responsibilities

    IT Support

    Areas you may be involved in:

    • Recording Incidents and Requests in the ITSM solution from phone calls, emails and drop-ins .
    • Perform hands-on and remote fixes while assigning the appropriate levels of priority and resource.
    • Escalate Incidents and Requests when required to ensure SLA’s are met
    • To help deploy & maintain a variety of software applications ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
    • Building new machines and issuing them to users

    IT Security

    Areas you may be involved in:

    • Actively contribute to the continuous development of security tools, technologies, processes and overall IT capability in the Management of Cyber Risk.
    • Contributing to policy and cyber awareness information while keeping employees informed of risks through the intranet and notice boards.
    • Operation and administration of Martin-Baker security technologies to ensure they are fully utilized and work in an effective manner.
    • Conducting audits across the IT and user base and making remediation recommendations to Management.

    Requirements

    Education & Qualifications

    • You must be working towards a good degree (1st or Upper 2nd Class Honors) in an appropriate IT / Computer Science based subject.

    Specific/Technical Skill

    • Communication skills: able to communicate verbally, in presentation format and in writing
    • Good data analysis and report writing skills
    • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • A sound grasp of a variety of IT software
    • Good at diagnosis, problem solving, and follow through.

    • Attention to detail – thorough, accurate and concern for all the areas involved
    • Planning and organising - effective time management skills and prioritising tasks
    • ‘Hands on’ approach and a willingness to learn.
    • Flexible, pro-active approach.
    • Structured logical thinker.
    • Good interpersonal skills, able to deal with employees at all levels in the company
    • Some work experience in an IT setting (would be beneficial)
