Our London office plays a key role in our global network – it’s home to some of the sharpest minds in the industry and offers our clients a full range of legal services. Training with us here will give you the opportunity to work alongside over 75 partners and 160 lawyers in a thriving environment in the City of London – a hub of business and finance.

The Vacation Scheme will give you first-hand experience of life at a global law firm, where you’ll assist associates with real deals and share an office with a partner or associate. The programme also includes planned social activities, including a trip to our Paris office. Based at our London office, you’ll be assigned a trainee buddy who will support you throughout your time in the firm.

The Vacation Scheme is designed so you can get to know the firm and the people you’ll potentially work alongside, as well as a chance for us to get to know you. We’ll ask your supervisors for feedback during the scheme and there will be an interview at the end to assist us with our training contract decisions.

Who you are

The main thing we’re looking for is an innovative, creative mind coupled with a strong legal academic record and a wide range of extracurricular interests and achievements. If you’re also able to drive for results, have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, then you could be exactly the kind of person we’re looking for.

At Mayer Brown, we value and encourage diversity – it’s critical to our success as an international law firm. That’s why there isn’t a particular ‘type’ of trainee or intern here – our talent pool is representative of our global firm.

Inclusion begins with opportunity. To ensure accessibility, we work with organisations to help us ensure our recruitment processes are made available to everyone. For example, in the UK we work with the likes of: Aspiring Solicitors, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), My Plus Consulting, the Social Mobility Foundation and Stonewall. These partnerships encourage people from a wide range of backgrounds to join us.

So whoever you are and wherever you’re from, if you’ve got the talent, ambition and potential to succeed, then we’d love to hear from you. Be sure to look out for our events at your university, where you can meet some of our talented team.

Open to: Undergraduates and graduates (all disciplines)
