An exciting opportunity has arisen for a graduate engineer within the Research and Development area of the Engineering Group. Working as a member of the CAE Process Team, you will be responsible for projects that deliver enhancements to our software and data analysis capabilities. You will thrive working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment, and this offers a role where you will provide a significant contribution to on-track car performance and reliability.

Key accountabilities duties

Reporting to a Senior CAE Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Critical review of our existing data analysis systems to identify future opportunities for functionalities and integrations. Ensure that views from stakeholders across the business are gathered and understood.
  • Building new functionality into existing systems and testing these ready for deployment.
  • Exploring the latest techniques and methodologies available to continuously improve our software and data analysis offerings.
  • Ensure we have robust knowledge capture to retain our understanding and improve efficiency of future upgrades.
  • Support the generation of visualisation and dashboard tools to enable us to display data and insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proactively collaborate with other areas of the business including the Reliability, Engineering Software and IT groups.

Candidate profile

Essential

  • A passion for software development and improving the tools used by engineers.
  • Experience of coding in a high-level programming language.
  • Ability to collaborate and deliver results across different departments and teams.
  • Proven ability to take the initiative.
  • Curious, committed to continuous learning, and ability to adapt quickly to change.

Desirable

  • Experience in coding to automate processes, manage data and visualise information.
  • Analysis of live and logged data to draw conclusion of component and system health.
  • Ability to creatively present data in formats that make it accessible and understandable to a wide range of stakeholders and business areas.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering in a competition environment (such as sport) where the deadline is immovable.

Specific advantageous experiences

  • Coding in any of Python, MATLAB, Javascript, HTML, VBA, DAX, C#.
  • Use of Artificial Intelligence and in particular Machine Learning for solving diverse problems.
  • Working knowledge of High Performance Clusters (HPC’s) including working with GPU’s.
  • Use of ATLAS 10 for analysing live and logged data.
  • Experience in working on vibration testing and analysis problems.
  • Experience with using Dassault 3DX for extracting information from CAD.
  • Dashboard development in business insight tools such as PowerBI or Tibco Spotfire.
