For our Microsoft Research Cambridge lab, we are seeking research intern candidates in the area of Deep Learning for Molecular Modelling. Successful applicants are expected to contribute to a program of research in deep learning approaches for chemistry and applications under the supervision of experts in deep learning and computational chemistry.

We are anticipating this will be a virtual internship and the intern must be physically located in UK at the time of their application and during the duration of their internship.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implementation and experimental validation of deep learning models and algorithms on molecular data.
  • Collaboration with other researchers and engineers as part of a project team.
  • Clearly communicating research ideas in writing and presentations to colleagues and the wider research community.

Qualifications

  • Understanding and demonstrated research track record of deep learning techniques for molecular modelling, for example through research in a related PhD program or equivalent research experience.
  • Papers in academic conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR or domain-specific conferences).
  • Experience in building machine learning systems with PyTorch.
  • Demonstrated ability to write Python code and familiarity with collaborative software engineering processes such as code reviews and software testing principles.
