Mizuho International plc (MHI) is the London based securities and investment banking arm of the Mizuho Financial Group, Inc., and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd.  With a primary focus on client based activities, its wide range of services includes sales and trading in both debt and equity securities, the underwriting of new issues and M&A advisory services.

What we do

Mizuho’s Sustainability Department supports activities assessing the key priorities and risk factors across the business, understanding the regulatory framework relating to sustainability and also educating and engaging our stakeholders, especially our employees, in economic, social and environmental initiatives across the institution. Sustainability is not an isolated competency, more a business and cultural mind-set that is being integrated throughout all of our business activities.

In simple terms, sustainability can be defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability to meet future needs, or ensuring that resource usage is balanced so that a steady state is maintained.

The goal of a sustainability department is to help the company ensure its long-term future by protecting communities, restoring and conserving ecosystems, and creating competitive profit.

About you

Our interns will gain experience in across the Sustainability department over a 10 week period with a view to being offered a position on the Mizuho 2023 Graduate Programme, commencing September 2023.
