About the project

The SHEQ Functional Team operates across the Infrastructure business, acting as a support service to the wider business and sectors. The team has key responsibilities for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, as well as Responsible Business, providing advice to the business as well as driving strategies and approaches. The team is led by the SHEQ Director who is a member of the Infrastructure Management Team.

In the Energy and Water business unit our teams work within the energy and water sectors, helping customers them make the most of their existing assets as well as building new assets to continually improve the UK’s energy and water infrastructure. We do this by putting our customers first, using innovative ideas and challenging the status quo.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Dinorwig Power Station to Pentir substation underground cable replacement project for National Grid. National Grid needs to replace existing underground cables which were installed in the late 1970s as they are coming to the end of their operational life. The cable replacement project is a complex engineering scheme. We are installing three new circuits to maintain the security of electrical supplies for the local area and beyond. The project is taking place in an environmentally sensitive area and we are working closely with stakeholders to reduce the impact of our work.
