Our telecommunications team provides a wide range of consultancy and design services for all types of telecommunications system (Operational telecoms, Transmission Bearer Networks, Station Information and Security Systems (SISS) and SCADA) for high speed, heavy and light rail schemes. Our telecom engineers work across the whole life cycle of projects ranging from:

  • Capturing client requirements;
  • Feasibility studies and defining telecommunications requirements;
  • Option appraisal and selection of single option;
  • Development of a Reference System design and achievement of Approval in Principle (AiP);
  • Production of detailed designs and achieve Approval for Construction’
  • Design Support during construction, testing & commissioning and introduction into operational service
  • Client Technical Advisor - Production of Specifications (functional, design and tender); Tender Evaluation & Procurement Support; Project Management; Project Engineering Delivery
  • Approved Body assurance and verification activities

To apply for this role, you will have less than 12 months experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve an MEng degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Ideally you will have telecommunications as a specialism.

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in telecoms through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
