The Role

You will be joining our railways team and will optimise human well-being and overall system performance of the railways in order to improve comfort, health, safety and productivity. With over 100 years’ experience in developing rail systems, you will be joining the world’s leading transport consultancy. In this role, you will incorporate the three main fields of ergonomics: physical, cognitive, and organisational.

You will be working on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, where typical duties include:

• Preparing documents, reports and health and safety risk assessments with ergonomic focus.
• Interpret commercial and/or contractual aspects of correspondence with or between fellow professionals.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical engineering codes and practises

To apply for this scheme, you will have less than 12 months experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

• Ergonomics
• Psychology
• Human Factors or any related discipline

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

• Methodical approach to problem solving
• Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ergonomic principles.
• Enjoy taking a “hands on” technical role.
