Halting climate change will require a monumental restructuring of the global economy. By joining MSCI’s Climate teams, you could help provide clients from across the capital ecosystem with integrated data, analytical tools, indexes and insights to form a clear view of the climate transition.

Your key responsibilities

During your internship you will join one of our Carbon Markets teams looking either at corporate climate action or the voluntary carbon market. You will be asked to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, including using Excel, SQL and/or Python, and write client-ready reports on important and relevant subjects such as examining the key characteristics and differences in quality and prices of certain types of carbon credits, or how different firms within a certain industry are using carbon credits.

Specific knowledge and skills

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s program in a relevant field such as economics, finance, data analysis, or environmental studies.
  • Master’s students are desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrable interest in climate change and supporting the private sector to address this challenge.
  • Advanced research and data handling skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Python, SQL and/or PowerBI experience would be a bonus.
  • You should be driven, able to think creatively and intellectually curious.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You should be able to effectively manage your own time

Desired qualifications
