Never harm

  • Develop knowledge in planning, managing and delivering works in a safe, controlled and environmentally sustainable manner.
  • Ensure a strong culture for Never Harm is present on the project; actively promote engagement with the CDP programme.
  • Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Carry out all work in accordance with health and safety and any other legal requirements

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control.
  • Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Assist with resolving technical problems at all levels.
  • Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works. Formally request any missing information in sufficient time to allow the programme to proceed without delay.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan.
  • The production of survey information and red – lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
  • Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
  • Accurate maintenance of Quality Management System records.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
  • Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained noting against each record the date, location and serial number of equipment used.
  • Informing senior management of any non-conformances or poor workmanship.
  • Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
  • Close liaison with the Site Foreman/Supervisor and Works Managers.
  • Assist with the co-ordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of the Works.
  • Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used.
  • Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
  • Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports.
  • Assist QS with site quantities and measures for monthly valuations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design electrical systems, circuits, for various projects. Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure the functionality and safety.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for electrical systems. Maintain accurate records and update design documents, as necessary.

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Construction Experience (desirable)
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written, oral and numeracy skills.
