At Nationwide we spend over £500m each year introducing new products and services, simplifying our IT infrastructure, complying with new legislation and regulations, and developing innovative new technology.

As a member led organisation, this means delivering change that meets our members’ needs and delivering an excellent member and colleague experience.

We’re also no strangers to innovation having been the first in the UK to launch an internet bank, joint first with Apple pay and implementing leading-edge Cisco technology in our branches. This, coupled with our advancements in agile ways of working and a refreshed change delivery operating model, makes it a very exciting time to start working at Nationwide.

We openly put our 16 million members at the centre of every decision we make as a business. Every role, no matter what it’s doing, is member focused. We need graduates who are go-getters; ambitious, driven, and full of curiosity. And we promise to give you all the opportunities you can handle to continue learning and developing to achieve your career goals.

With all our Early Career opportunities, you will not need to relocate. At Nationwide, where we work is led by what we’re doing. Sometimes that means meeting up at one of our hubs, and often it means working from home or a nearby office. You can find out more about our Happily Hybrid approach in our Future of Work section.

We don’t ask for you to have achieved a certain degree subject or classification for this Graduate role, but you must have a degree (or will have completed your degree by the time you start with us in September 2023) in order to be eligible to apply.

Please ensure you apply early, due to the popularity of our Graduate roles we will close adverts before the application deadline if sufficient application numbers have been reached.

This could see you taking responsibility for shaping early ideas for change, capturing and analysing user requirements, engaging and managing stakeholders, managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, leading teams to deliver against key outcomes, preparing the business for change and implementing solutions.

You will get out what you put in during your time on the programme so come with an open mind and a desire to learn as you rotate around the business.

    Why work at Nationwide

We’re different from other financial service providers. We’re a building society, owned by our members. And for over 130 years, we’ve supported those members to make the most of their money and achieve what they want from life.

That’s reflected in the way we work here at Nationwide. We come together to make sure we’re doing things in the best way possible, both for each other and for our members. If you join us, you’ll be part of that. You’ll be able to help us build something really quite special. And you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference.

On top of that, we always want you to be yourself. To use your skills and experience to make our Society stronger. To feel valued for who you are, not just what you do. Because here at Nationwide, we understand that we can do more together than we ever could alone.
