The role
Lace be honest, shoes are the best storytellers, they’ve been to many places and seen many faces but finding the right shoe is no easy feet! As an Assistant Designer for Footwear and Accessories at Joules, you will be responsible for supporting the creation and development of shoe-perior, seasonal footwear and varied accessory ranges that place Joules as the very Best in Shoe Show!
What to expect
- Responsible for supporting the creation and development of seasonal design ranges across footwear and accessories, balancing creative and commercial needs to deliver against the Concept brief.
- From footwear to scarves, from bags to hair accessories, you can expect varied and exciting projects to work on within a Department that has full support and enthusiasm from Management in terms of the bigger picture - there’s big plans ahead!!
- Implement the seasonal Design Direction set out by the CBO, Design Director, and the Concept Team to drive the strategic objectives daily through the Design Team.
- Design footwear and accessories in a broad variety of styles that creatively respond to a brief, embracing a commercial eye and a think outside of the box approach.
- Each day must follow a customer led approach supported by store visits, competitive shops and inspirational shopping.
- A varied and fast paced role with exciting opportunities for growth! Our Management team are really excited about this area of the business of which they have exciting plans for!
The ideal candidate
To really shine within the role of Assistant Designer - Footwear and Accessories you must be a qualified Designer with a creative ‘think outside of the box’ approach to your craft and demonstrate a flair for adaptable, collaborative working!
- You must be Illustrator proficient with a Fashion Design Degree or equivalent.
- You should have an outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic nature with the ability to adapt and work collaboratively with our close knit team.
- A genuine excitement about the brand is a must (although we don’t think this is too difficult!).
- You must be confident in your ability to easily switch between different products as the workload is varied and at times fast paced.
- Able to work cross-functionally and build strong rapport and relationships across the wider teams.
- Understanding of commercial acumen, our customer and market positioning.
- Excellent trend prediction and can translate into contemporary relevance for the Joules brand.
Location
This is a full time role based at our Market Harborough Head Office in Leicestershire and you will need to be able to be present in the office 5 days per week.
