Our Nissan R&D Vehicle Engineering functions are looking for undergraduates seeking their industrial placement year starting in August 2024. We are looking for applicants passionate about Design & Development, keen to develop practical experience in an R&D environment.
Working for Nissan at its European R&D centre (NTCE) based near Milton Keynes and Cranfield University, you’ll play a key role in our push towards electrification, resolving the challenges and opportunities this creates to enhance our customer experience.
The placement scheme
This scheme provides the opportunity to get hands on experience supporting the team of Engineers designing, developing, and testing vehicles, and working with colleagues and suppliers from all over the world.
Within this role you will gain hands on experience of all aspects of the development process from benchmarking, target setting, layout planning, concept sheet making, collaboration with styling, sourcing, technical cost analysis, digital and physical phase design & development & supplier / cost management extending into the life cycle of the project.
Through this you will be able to develop your knowledge of how to design for cost whilst delivering the high levels of quality our customers expect within a strict project timing framework.
This is an interesting, challenging and rewarding scheme and this is the reason so many of our industrial placements return to us in Graduate roles, in fact many managers and senior leaders within the organisation started in Industrial placement roles, including the Vice President of Research & Development!
What you’ll need to be successful
- An undergraduate studying a relevant Engineering subject
- Interest in developing a career within Industry
- Solutions focused and inquisitive/ responsibly curious
- A good communicator, building and maintaining great working relationships is vital
- Determination to succeed and work with accountability.
