NVIDIA is searching for an Intern Chip-Design Verification Engineer to join our Network Adapter Chip Design team in Belfast, focusing on products such as our ConnectX Ethernet Network Interface Cards (SmartNICs) and BlueField Data Processing Units (DPUs).

As an Intern Verification Engineer, you will be mentored by a group of passionate engineers to design and implement the next generation state-of-the-art SmartNICs and DPU platform. This position offers the opportunity to have real impact in a dynamic, technology-focused company impacting product lines that empower the most advanced data centres in the world.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work in a combined design and verification team which develops some of the Network Adapter silicon core units
  • Building reference models, verifying and simulating chip blocks/entities according to the specifications, under challenging constraints with a focus on high performance
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams such as Architecture, Micro-Architecture and Firmware

What we need to see

  • Studying towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Good problem solving and debugging skills
  • Exposure to HDL/HVLs (Hardware Description Language/Hardware Verification Language) such as VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog
  • Exposure to scripting languages such as Perl/Python
  • Exposure to Digital systems and VLSI design
  • Enthusiastic about cutting edge technology
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd

  • Understanding of networking technologies and protocols
  • Understanding of RTL design and testbench creation
  • Programming experience in C/C++, Verilog/System Verilog, Verification methodology
