Are you an enthusiastic book lover who would like to start their publishing journey in sales at the world’s leading illustrated non-fiction publisher? DK is looking for a motivated Rights Assistant to join our Northern Europe team, part of our International Sales division.

The role

Our International division, made up of c.60 people globally, is a fun, friendly and diverse bunch responsible for selling our beautiful books across the world. Working in close collaboration with the immediate team of four people, this administrative support position calls for an individual who is inquisitive, proactive and eager to expand their knowledge and learn about Sales and Publishing. Reporting into the Rights Manager, key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing excellent customer care: proactive trouble-shooting, answering questions on files, dates, process, editorial/translation feedback, in conjunction with your manager
  • Ordering and supplying sales materials to customers
  • Liaising with Production colleagues to track individual printings for your customers through to successful delivery
  • Drafting contracts
  • Communicating with and building independent, trusted relationships with your country/regional customers from the get-go
  • Supporting the team with any preparation for business trips/ bookfairs.

About you

This role will suit an expert organiser who is able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will engage with international customers and colleagues throughout the company, acting as the first point of contact and linchpin for the team. Although not mandatory, fluency in a second language would be a valuable asset in this division.
