    Your new team

    This position sits in our Pernod Ricard UK (PRUK) business. Since 2017 PRUK has also hosted The Gin Hub, the team responsible for managing the Group’s unrivalled portfolio of ‘Premium+’ International Gins globally.

    The Strategy and Transformation team sits at the heart of our business and is focused on accelerating the company’s performance and significantly growing value market share over the next five years and into the future. There are four specialist areas working closely together within the Strategy and Transformation team: Category Development, Consumer & Shopper Insights, Business Integration, and Commercial Transformation.

    This role sits within the off-trade side of the Category Development team, which is made up of Category Development Executives, Managers, Senior Managers and Lead Managers. Category Development are customer and market experts who interpret sales shopper and market data to understand why things are happening in the market across the off- and on-trade, the implications thereof, and the likely impacts on the future of spirits and wine. We work to establish PRUK’s unique angle on the market and then use that to guide internal decision-making as well as share with our customers to ultimately help shape the spirits and wine markets to fit our business ambitions.

    Your unique contribution

    You will have three main areas of responsibility:

    1. Delivering and improving quarterly reports for the business

    You will be responsible for the quarterly reporting to the business. This includes the Nemo summary and distribution, Spirits and Wine reports, and the Impulse Buyer’s Guide. You will have an eye for detail, understand the importance of efficient processes, and will be required to be proactive in looking for ways to improve the delivery of this reporting into the business.

    2. NielsenIQ / shopper data

    Supporting the Senior Category Strategy Manager in the day-to-day management of the NielsenIQ relationship and delivery of their data into the business. This includes a wide range of tasks such as organising and delivering training, gathering feedback, and creating materials for the team using NielsenIQ data. Ad hoc support to the business including use of shopper data portals, such as Dunnhumby and Sainsbury’s Insight Platform (SIP).

    3. Spirits, Wine, and RTD category data support

    You will assist the Category team their external, customer-facing and internal, marketing-facing responsibilities, taking ownership on projects when required. You should be comfortable talking about with your work with colleagues and may be required to present this work occasionally.

    You will also support the Senior Category Strategy Manager in the delivery of ad hoc projects throughout the year. Curiosity, proactivity and attention to detail are assets in this role. You should be confident sharing your perspective with internal stakeholders and eager to learn more about our categories, shopper behaviour, and how market data is used in our business.

    Who you’ll be working with

    Internally, you’ll work with the Category Development team, wider Strategy & Transformation team including Consumer Insights and RGM, the spirits Brand Marketing and Customer Marketing teams, and wider Sales teams.

    Externally, you will work with external data agencies, incl. NielsenIQ and others as required.
