Performs inspection on a range of work to detect defects and maintain quality standards. Establish industry knowledge of a variety of analytical tests and techniques to enhance experience. With support from Line Leader, conduct an extended project into a relevant topic within the department.

The role

Using a variety of instrumental and wet chemistry techniques, you will be responsible for conducting routine analysis of raw materials and finished products to ensure we are consistently producing the highest quality self-care products. In addition during the placement you will have the opportunity to conduct an extended investigation project into a relevant area within the Quality Control Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tests in-process product or finished product samples according to established procedures and document those tests appropriately.
  • Responsible for chemistry method validations and equipment qualification.
  • May create and recommends modifications to test methods, and SOPs.
  • Reviews and conducts validation protocols.
  • Records results and conformance to acceptance plans.
  • Enters data on control charts and notifies others of out-of-specification conditions.

Experience required

  • Studying a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Science based subject.
  • Above course requires a 12-month Industrial Placement with a flexible start date

All necessary training is provided and therefore prior industry experience is not essential, however, you will need to have a minimum of an A level in a science subject or equivalent. You’ll also need to be a team player, with good communication skills, be well organised and have a methodical approach.
