Are you an experienced Hydraulic Modelling Technician or recent Graduate looking to develop your career?

Due to the securing of new projects within the water industry, our Civil Engineering Hydraulic modelling team are looking to further expand their Hydraulic Modelling team in Leicester. This opportunity provides the perfect starting point for the right candidate interested in developing a career in hydraulic modelling and catchment management. As we have adopted agile working, you would also benefit from the flexibility of a mix of home and office working.

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Hydraulic Modelling Team in the development of computer-based hydraulic models, data analysis and the production of documentation and report outputs to be used to mitigate flooding pollution and service performance issues from urban drainage systems, as well as supporting the identification of client capital investment needs. Our key clients include Severn Trent, Irish Water, United Utilities and the Government of Jersey, along with well-known residential developers.

Main responsibilities / activities

  • Preparation, management and analysis of GIS data
  • Support the operation and enhancement of hydraulic models
  • Support the production of technical reports and outputs
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers as required
  • Understanding and compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices, and procedures

About you

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience in the operation and use of GIS data
  • A keen interest in urban drainage and catchment management, developing skills in hydraulic modelling.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment
  • An interest in building client relationships and develop suitable opportunities
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear commitment to improving and extending technical knowledge and application
