Responsibilities

As a Building Management System (BMS) Graduate at PM Group, your day to day role would involve, but would not be limited to the following activities:

  • Work on exciting projects in the Mission Critical, Pharma, Med Tech, Food, Advance Manufacturing and Energy sectors
  • Coordination with clients, contractors, vendors and other PM Group departments / offices with regard to scope management, deliverables, time lines, resources and 3rd party interfaces / queries. This could include:
  • BMS inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
  • Support during construction (contractor queries and submittals)
  • Assist with commissioning activities
  • Coordination of design with other disciplines
  • In conjunction with senior engineers and designers preparation of the following deliverables at various project stages:
  • Design of control systems across various BMS platforms to develop the required project documentation as follows
  • BMS I/O lists
  • HVAC Sequence of Operations documents
  • Grey Utility Sequence of Operations documents
  • Scope of Works,
  • Functional Specifications,
  • Hardware Specifications
  • Design BMS System Architecture & Topography
  • Instrumentation design and selection
  • HVAC and Grey Utility Schematics (Air & Instrument Diagrams, Utility & Instrument Diagrams)
  • Cost Estimates
  • Coordinate and collaborate across project disciplines both within the office and outside
  • Attending project site visits to monitor and review BMS installations
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare written specifications & reports.
  • Have professional approach and demeanour.
  • A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other departments within the Ireland and the PM Group network.
  • Ensure all work under your supervision is being carried out in line with PM Group’s standards and procedures, and the client’s requirements.
  • Take a “hands on” approach to managing your work –developing your technical skills and experience

Qualifications

  • Primary Honours Degree (Level 8) in Engineering / Science
  • Proficient in the use of engineering software (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Visio is a distinct advantage (training provided for the appropriate candidate))
  • Relevant experience (e.g. summer work etc.) in related industry
  • Ability to work in a vibrant multi discipline collaborative design environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter
  • Flexibility to work both in a design office and on a construction site
