As a Production Planner (Undergraduate Placement Scheme), you will interpret demand/forecasts into an operational production plan and support the execution of the plan to achieve top levels of service, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and issue production schedules using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and supporting systems to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts of customer orders in conjunction with manufacturing lead times.
  • Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions through an agreed process.
  • Identify and work with Production to minimise constraints with the support of the Planning Manager.
  • Maintain short and long term demands to maintain level workloads within production where possible in line with agreed PSO rates.
  • Coordinate priorities between multiple departments.
  • Update key performance indicators where required.
  • Attend daily meetings to discuss issues which may affect schedule and work with relevant departments to resolve any issues.
  • Identify and assign turnover at every opportunity
  • Run line availability and update daily.
  • Investigate, with root cause analysis, material shortages and late customer orders.

Qualifications

  • Studying for an undergraduate degree in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Management with Logistics etc. (Crucial))!
  • Ability to identify, prioritise and work to strict timescales.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High levels of digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
