At the Plymouth location we design and manufacture products for control, navigation and guidance for surface and air applications in the global aerospace and defence markets. Our world leading products include the innovative MEMS based IMUs and the digital terrain reference navigation system, TERPROM®.

To support our existing business and enable future growth we are seeking an Industrial Placement student to join our Technology Development team on a 12-month placement commencing in Sept 24.

Primary responsibilities

  • Supporting Technology Development team in evaluation and testing of next generation inertial sensors
  • Multi-physics modelling of novel sensor designs and data analysis
  • All aspects of technology development process
  • Engaging with idea generation and problem resolution with Technology team

Skills and experience required

  • Self-motivated, diligent and excited by STEM subjects
  • You will either have recently completed A levels (or equivalent level) in STEM related subjects or be working towards qualification to degree level in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics or other closely related discipline
  • A keen interest in research and product development within military or civil aerospace
  • Competent in technical report writing and presentations
  • A team player and effective communicator
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise own work
