About the role

As an R & D Category Assistant at Reckitt, you will thrive in our fast-paced environment alongside a team of expert scientists dedicated to ensuring product safety and efficacy. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in supporting technical dossier management and analytical lab compliance.

Focusing on the Veet brand - you’ll help drive technical product development on key projects. Working with experts from different teams, you’ll be involved in the formulation development of products from feasibility to launch. Ultimately, you’ll help us create new products, products that solve real problems and improve the lives of millions of people.

Your responsibilities

  • Playing a pivotal role in supporting development and transfer project(s). To be responsible for the assigned laboratory activities ensuring all required formulation development, feasibility, analytical testing, manufacturing process validation, are performed on time and to the required standards. This includes Organising and completing product stability studies in compliance with standards of Good Laboratory Practices, keeping accurate records and communicating results as well as managing raw material documentation.
  • Support in the creation of technical dossiers such as stability report, claims documentation, consumer testing and manufacturing scale up
  • Build technical knowledge of respective areas of the product portfolio/ technologies and leverage this within day-to-day activities.
  • Being proactive with technical input at both theoretical and practical levels, using technical skills and knowledge to solve project associated problems.
  • Take ownership of R&D actions ensuring day to day functional work associated with specified actions is implemented and delivery of project specific objectives to agreed timelines.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement of R&D laboratory procedures and best practices (report writing, notebook updates etc.)

  • Educated to Degree level in a Scientific Discipline
  • You have a strong ability to interact with the wider team with good influencing skills
  • You are creative, proactive and a problem solver.
  • You’re able to communicate effectively with colleagues from different fields.
  • You have strong organisational skills and are able to prioritise tasks according to projects needs.
  • You are independently minded, with a healthy curiosity and will actively seek out additional information when you need it.
  • You have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary project team, with good partnership skills.
  • You have experience of working within a laboratory environment (preferably within the cosmetic or healthcare industry but this is not essential)
