We’ve experienced exponential growth in the team and office because of our people and our ability to assist them develop their careers. As such we’re actively looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our Cost Management team situated in our Winchester office.

Alongside an ambitious and dynamic team there will be the opportunity to develop your skills in client facing activities providing a wide range of Quantity Surveying services. You will have the opportunity to participate, support and lead in a variety of projects within the residential, education, retail, commercial, and leisure sectors.

The Cost Management team in Winchester employs 16 people and is part of a larger 140-person cost management service throughout the UK’s offices. We’re a social, professional, and supportive team that wants to progress as a group.

Role and responsibilities

In this role we will support and develop your skills to include duties that will include:

  • Preparation of cost estimates
  • Advise on costs involved in building projects
  • Evaluation of costs and advise on alternative proposals
  • Advise on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed
  • Evaluation of tenders and reporting thereon
  • Provide advice on implications of different construction methods, materials etc
  • Prepare bills of quantities
  • Managing the procurement and tendering process to select the best contractor for the project.
  • Managing the commercial aspects of projects on site including valuations of work complete, assessments of variations and the preparation of final accounts.

Experience and skills required

To apply for this role, you must evidence:

  • Relevant degree in a surveying, or similar RICS accredited course
  • Ideally experience or knowledge of the building and construction industry
  • A desire to becoming an MRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor
